Flushing Loos are in!

In the last month our construction team on site have installed a septic tank and dug a soak pit, which has made it possible to connect the Kindergarten to have flushing toilets.

Destiny Bridge Academy and happy school children!

We have installed windows and furnished the head teacher’s office plus added a lot more furniture to all classrooms to help with schooling. The children are still so proud of the benches donated last year from our wonderful supporters in Liverpool!

Our head teacher on site is doing a fantastic job at running the school and in the past year 116 children from the Wakiso community have joined. This has meant that many children who were not attending school due to lack of school fees are now being given the gift of a bright future at the Destiny Bridge Academy. At school, all children are given lunch and we have a wonderful play area, that was extended last year. We are so thankful for all the volunteers and supporters – thankful for joining us on this journey!

With the ever increasing need, especially as new younger children are brought to live at KCC and the many children in the community who don’t go to school, we may need to add two more classrooms to the kindergarten! At the moment in order to have enough classrooms we have rehabilitated and created two temporary wooden classes.

Our desire is to now build a primary school on site to fulfil the need of giving our older children a high level of education.
